Hi, I'm Pat Cleaver!

I'm a british composer and audio designer for video games based in Amsterdam(The Netherlands). I write dynamic music across a wide selection of genres and create high quality sound effects. I design interactive audio systems to enhance the gameplay experience and make great sounding games.

I am also an award winning bassist and recording artist, having performed in clubs and festivals across the globe, spanning more than 20 countries. As a member of the trio Tin Men & the Telephone I helped create the world’s first ever interactive improvised music show, using audience input to shape and determine how the music is performed.

As a bassist, I enjoy nothing more than standing at the back of the stage, discreetly providing the low notes and grooves that are necessary for others to shine. I like to think that this attitude carries over into my game audio work. My goal is to be supportive of other people’s visions, and lend my skills and creative voice to their work. That’s what I love most about game development: working with talented folks across multiple disciplines with the common goal of creating fun and engaging experiences for players.

I'm also an educator and have been invited to give private lessons and workshops in many prestigious institutions including the Berklee College of Music (Valencia Campus), Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London), Birmingham Conservatoire, HKU (Utrecht Conservatory), ArtEZ (Arnhem Conservatory), Maastricht Conservatory, KlangFabrik (Mannheim), Jazzinty workshop (Slovenia).
